How to transport road vehicles, tractors, forklifts, loading and unloading vehicles, excavators, and bulldozers from China to Australia?

Exporting non-road vehicles from China to Australia does not require too many procedures. Firstly, the normal export documentation and customs declaration are required for the export from China. Warehouse vehicles, forklifts, loading and unloading vehicles, agricultural vehicles such as agricultural machinery, tractors, bulldozers, excavators, and other vehicles and equipment can be cleared and delivered without special import permits if they are brand new. However, the products themselves need to have export machinery safety certifications such as CE, UL, 3C, or supplementary materials such as tool vehicle safety certifications should be submitted together with the customs declaration.

We have assisted in completing the export customs declaration, certificate of origin, and application for Australian VIA (Vehicle Import Approval) or exemption certificate for similar goods. Non-road traffic vehicles do not require vehicle import approval. Vehicles that are typically unsuitable for use on roads do not need to apply for a VIA vehicle import approval. These vehicles may include railway or tramway vehicles, tracked vehicles, bulldozers, graders, excavators, loaders, dumpers, agricultural tractors or trailers, forklifts, children’s toys, and outdoor amusement vehicles, among others.

Pre-shipment requirements:

1、The vehicles must be brand new and not used.

2、The vehicles must undergo steam cleaning and must not have any materials such as soil that may pose quarantine risks.

3、Import permits must be applied for.

You need to obtain approval from the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the relevant authorities in the Australian Transport Management Division to import vehicles into Australia. There are several ways to apply for the import of road vehicles, automobiles, and construction equipment vehicles and obtain approval from the respective departments. You can choose the appropriate application method based on your import category. The application for importing road vehicles needs to be submitted online through the ROVER (Road Vehicle Regulator) system and obtain approval.
