The shipment involves kitchen vegetable cutters from the Nansha bonded warehouse to Singapore with full container load (FCL) service, including double customs clearance.
This shipment consists of kitchen appliances, specifically vegetable cutters, totaling 19 cubic meters. Since the goods cannot be transferred from the bonded warehouse to a private warehouse for loading, the container will be directly loaded within the bonded area. As requested by the customer, the vegetable cutters will be transported on pallets, and the estimated pallet size and quantity fit perfectly into a 20GP container. Hence, a full container load (FCL) is recommended to the customer.
The transportation process involves multiple steps, each requiring strict adherence to procedures. Below are the detailed steps of this shipment:
1. Confirming Loading Details:
First, the customer must provide the exact location and contact details of the Nansha bonded warehouse and confirm the loading date and any specific requirements. Based on this information, the logistics team can make the necessary arrangements in advance.
2. Booking the Shipment:
After the customer provides the booking information, the logistics company will promptly arrange the booking and issue the SO (Shipping Order), which ensures the reservation of the container’s shipping capacity.
3. Trucking Appointment and Filing:
To ensure the container can smoothly enter the bonded area, the truck driver must be pre-registered. After picking up the empty container, the driver will transport it to the designated entrance of the bonded area. This step requires careful time management to ensure the following procedures are executed smoothly.
4. Warehouse Loading and Weighing:
Once the loading is completed at the warehouse, the truck driver must take photos to document the process for future inspection. Weighing the container is a necessary procedure to ensure the weight complies with standards. After the weighing, the driver will return the container to the terminal yard, preparing for sea transport.
5. Customs Clearance and Release:
Allow sufficient time for the customs clearance process. Once the shipment is successfully cleared and released, the goods can be loaded onto the ship for transport to the destination, Singapore.
6. Singapore Customs Clearance and Pickup:
When the shipment arrives at the Singapore port, the logistics company will handle the customs clearance. After customs clearance is completed, the container will be picked up, and a delivery appointment will be made with the destination warehouse.
7. Delivery and Container Return:
The goods will be delivered to the customer’s designated warehouse. After unloading, the empty container will be returned to the terminal yard, completing the entire transportation task.
Key Details During the Shipment Process:
Bonded Warehouse Appointment: The truck driver must make an appointment with the warehouse before entering the Nansha bonded area. The driver needs to carry valid documents such as an ID card, driver’s license, and vehicle registration.
Weighing and Photo Records: Weighing is required both when picking up and returning the container. Taking photos after loading is essential to ensure the condition of the goods is well documented.
Securing Large Machinery: For large machinery, it is crucial to properly secure the items inside the container to avoid damage due to movement during sea transport.
