Shipping Milk Tea Cups from Guangzhou/Shenzhen to Sibu Port, Malaysia: Full Container and LCL Options

Full Container Load (FCL) Shipping

FCL shipping is ideal for large shipments, where the entire container is filled with a single consignee’s cargo. A 20-foot or 40-foot container can be used depending on the size and weight of the shipment. For shipping milk tea cups, a 20-foot container can typically hold up to 10-12 pallets of goods, while a 40-foot container can accommodate about 20-25 pallets.

For a CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) shipment, the cost includes the transportation fee, insurance, and shipping from the port of origin (Guangzhou or Shenzhen) to the destination port (Sibu Port). The sea voyage typically takes about 13 days, depending on the shipping line and route taken. Once the cargo arrives at Sibu Port, the goods will be ready for unloading and delivery to the final destination.

Less than Container Load (LCL) Shipping

LCL shipping is suitable for smaller shipments where the cargo doesn’t fill an entire container. The goods will be consolidated with other shipments in the same container, allowing you to share the shipping cost. If you are shipping a smaller quantity of milk tea cups, LCL is a cost-effective solution.

With LCL, the sea voyage is also approximately 13 days from Guangzhou or Shenzhen to Sibu Port. The process involves careful consolidation and de-consolidation of goods at the port of departure and the destination. The freight forwarder will handle the arrangements, ensuring that the cargo is safely packed and delivered.

Packaging of Milk Tea Cups

Proper packaging is crucial to ensure that the milk tea cups arrive at their destination in good condition, especially when using ocean freight. Since these cups are fragile, they should be packaged securely to prevent damage during the long sea journey.

  1. Primary Packaging: Each milk tea cup should be individually wrapped in bubble wrap or foam to cushion it from impact. Alternatively, custom-designed inserts or boxes can be used to hold the cups securely.

  2. Secondary Packaging: The wrapped cups are placed into strong, sturdy cartons. It is important to choose cartons that can withstand the weight and pressure of stacking during transportation.

  3. Palletizing: For FCL shipments, the cartons are then loaded onto pallets. Pallets allow for easy handling and prevent the cargo from shifting inside the container during transit. The pallets should be secured with stretch film or straps to ensure the cartons stay in place.

  4. Labeling: Ensure that each carton is labeled with clear, legible shipping information, including the consignee’s address, the contents of the package, and any handling instructions (such as “Fragile” or “This Side Up”).

  5. Cargo Handling: For both FCL and LCL shipments, proper handling practices must be followed to avoid any crushing or breakage of the cups. The cargo should be loaded and unloaded with care, especially when using LCL, as the goods may be handled multiple times during the consolidation and de-consolidation processes.
